A balanced four-day order
Stay near Wulingyuan for the forest park and Grand Canyon portion, then move to the city before Tianmen Mountain and departure.
- Day 1: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, one main area.
- Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a second area or a weather-adjusted route.
- Day 3: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, or a rest and flexibility day if the glass bridge is not a priority.
- Day 4: Tianmen Mountain and departure from the city area.
Why split the accommodation
Wulingyuan is the practical base for the national forest park. Tianmen Mountain, the airport and the main city transport connections are on the city side.
Changing hotels once is often easier than making the city to Wulingyuan journey every morning and evening.
Keep one day flexible
Heavy rain and operational safety checks can cause temporary changes. Do not lock every attraction into a non-changeable sequence. Recheck official notices and reservation availability shortly before the trip.
